"Notre Dame" - Piano Concert -Trailer

The piano concerto "Notre Dame de Paris" is conceived and composed in the international standard and neo-romantic style for international evaluation. Humanistic theatrical elements of the Genesis, as well as the Reconstruction are supposed to be, as well as the bell sounds of Notre Dame were musically incorporated. The work was conceived with the working title: "Notre Dame de Paris - le coeur de France" as a large orchestral work, with large choir and a soloist main part for piano conceived. The piece reflects the beauty of the church, its destruction but also the hope through the reconstruction. Soloist, orchestra and choir melt into a great unity and give the listener a breathtaking sound experience.

The Egyptian Symphony 

With his latest work, "Symphonia Orientalis", composer Roland Baumgartner presents a monumental highlight in contemporary symphonic music. Premiered at the prestigious Cairo Opera House (December 2025) , this symphony serves as a visionary bridge between worlds, masterfully weaving together the rich heritage of European symphonic tradition with the evocative, soulful textures of Arabic music.

The composition is a sophisticated dialogue between styles, blending contemporary modern elements with mainstream sensibilities to create a soundscape that is as intellectually profound as it is emotionally accessible. Performed by a grand ensemble of over 80 musicians, the work utilizes the full sonic spectrum of a large-scale orchestra to capture the essence of a global culture.

Beyond its melodic beauty, "Symphonia Orientalis" acts as a musical portrait of Egypt itself. Baumgartner intentionally employs stylistic fluid transitions to mirror the timeless flow of the Nile, contrasted with deliberate, sharp breaks and powerful disruptions. These dramatic shifts are a conscious reflection of Egypt’s vast history—a journey through eras of harmony, monumental change, and enduring resilience.

In recognition of this deep cultural connection, Roland Baumgartner has dedicated this symphony to the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM). Just as the GEM stands as a beacon between the treasures of antiquity and the aspirations of the future, "Symphonia Orientalis" stands as a testament to the power of music to unite civilizations. 

"The Heaven Above Us" - 

Philharmonic Violin Concerto- Trailer

 The violin concerto "Heaven above us" was written in the year 2021 and is addressed to all nations of our  planet for peace and freedom and brotherhood of peoples. The great orchestration of the symphony orchestra in correspondence with the solo violin shows the different musical styles of the 5 continents. Thus, all nations can feel at home in the sound and style of the concert. 
 The sound of the violin is a global instrument from the past and can also show us the musical styles of the future. The title "Heaven above us" is meant to remind us that we are all children of our planet.Modern rhythms, soulful melodies and virtuoso violin solo parts in neo-romantic crossover style are meant to attract the audience and immerse them in a wonderful cloud of sound.

"Gondellied Variation"

In 2021 Roland Baumgartner  composed the piece "Gondellied Variation". This piece, which was composed for string orchestra and solo piano, was premiered in August at the Vienna Musikverein. This piece was a commissioned work and is supposed to take the Gondellied by Mendelssohn Bartholdy as its inspiration. Roland Baumgarter brought the structure and feeling into a symbiosis with the piano and the string orchestra and created a new piece.

"Symphonia Globalis"-Compilation

The environmental symphony "Symphonia Globalis" is probably one of Baumgartner's most exciting and largest orchestral works. Baumgartner composed this work for the Linz Klangwolke in 1996, where it was premiered before an audience of about 100,000. It was dedicated to the environment and Baumgartner's good friend David McTaggart, who is considered the founder of Greenpeace and is also featured in the symphony. The work includes an incredible variation of international styles as well as cutting-edge tonal structures in harmony with a large choir. The texts, sung by the choir and the two soloists, come from the greatest authors of the known literature ( eg: W. Shakespeare ,Dante Alighieri, Ovid, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe and many more).
